Schedule a Tour and Interview
Want to learn more about Hotchkiss? Below, you'll find a number of ways to help you get to know our school — and to help us get to know you.
Take a Campus Tour
The best way to learn about Hotchkiss is to see student life up close. Our student tour guides are eager to show you our campus, answer your questions, and tell you about what it's like to live and learn here.
Meet with us for an Interview
We highly recommend that you schedule an interview when you visit Hotchkiss; you'll be able to speak to an admission counselor who can answer any questions you might have about Hotchkiss, the admission process, or boarding school life in general. Additionally, an interview will help us get to know you.
FOR JANUARY, WE ARE HAPPY TO ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT, BUT REQUIRE:
- The submission of Part 1 (Candidate Profile) of the online Gateway to Prep Schools application to schedule an appointment
- And the submission of Part 2 (Candidate Project) prior to calling to make the appointment
To schedule an off-campus interview, please call our office at 860-435-3102.
How to Schedule a Visit
If there is some aspect of Hotchkiss that especially interests you, our office can request meetings with particular coaches or teachers during your visit. Certain school events are also open to prospective students; if you'd like to attend one, we can add it to your itinerary. See the athletic schedule and arts calendar.
Once you schedule a visit through our office, you will receive an appointment confirmation via email within 24 hours with links to directions and local accommodations. If you are visiting other schools on your trip, we can provide directions to help you get to your next destination.Be sure to complete your admission inquiry form before coming to campus.
Please contact us to schedule a campus tour or meet with an admission counselor from June 15 to August 21. Please note that we will be closed between June 29 and July 3. The admission office is closed on summer weekends, but self-guided campus maps are available on the front porch of Harris House.
We recommend that formal interviews be conducted during the academic year, in person or via Skype.
