Art

The study of art enables one to learn the history, techniques, and processes of making objects and images that have meaning. Art is a means of visual expression and communication, as well as a means of developing visual literacy. Students learn to manipulate a broad range of media with confidence and intent.

The Tremaine Art Gallery, located in the Main Building, features exhibits of well-known artists who work with students throughout the year. Additionally, art and photography is exhibited throughout the School. The Hotchkiss Film Club also hosts the Hotchkiss Film Festival every spring.

All Hotchkiss students have opportunities to study music, visual art, theatre, photography, film, related media, and dance, whether as a serious discipline or a new found interest.
