Biography:
Areas of Interest: Brant Hadzima has studied Spanish language and literature in southern Mexico, and he has participated in archaeological and cultural studies throughout Central America and South America. He has lived and worked in Japan, and travelled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. His main areas of interest are the Lacondon Maya in southern Mexico, the Olmec in Tabasco and Veracruz, the Quiche Maya in the Yucatan, and Central America. This year, he and his family will travel to Panama to learn about the Kuna indigenous tribe, then on to Colombia to research service learning options. Other Activities: He is a current member of the AP Spanish Test Development Committee, and he has worked for the past 10 years with College board and ETS as an AP Spanish table leader, a faculty consultant, the editor for a special focus unit on Listening Comprehension Instruction, and a contributing author. Mr. Hadzima lives on campus with his family and is the head coach for boys jv soccer. Coaching profile: Mr. Hadzima started coaching youth high school soccer when he was17, and he has been working with the Hotchkiss boys JV team since 2009. He has played soccer at a variety of levels, including for his high school in Mexico and with the Hispanic league in Dover, NJ. His goals for the JV boys soccer team are grounded in helping to build and to sustain a very competitive varsity soccer program, and the team philosophy is based on improving skills, collaboration, fitness, a strong work ethic, and developing well-rounded players.
