The girls varsity water polo team concluded its season with an emphatic 15-4 victory over Staples High School on May 21.
The Bearcats (2-6) doubled their win total from last season by winning their second straight over the Wreckers. The game came as the second half of a home-and-home series, but the earlier game at Staples had previously been cancelled.

Goalie Nevada Lee '18 also shone for the Bearcats, making 11 saves as the Wreckers peppered her with shots from long distance.
Doggett, who won three of the four face-offs she took, started the action with a goal on the opening possession. The Bearcats kept the pressure on throughout the first quarter, adding four more goals for a 5-1 lead.
The second quarter saw Staples mount a small comeback, trading a pair of goals with Hotchkiss to bring the margin to 7-3.
Lee controlled the action in the third period, stopping eight Staples shots to hold the visitors scoreless as Hotchkiss pushed the margin to 10-3.
