Justin Ghaeli '18 won his second major individual squash tournament of the year, finishing first in the Under-19 division at the 2017 FASSP Gold tournament on Mar. 3-5.
Ghaeli mowed through his 32-person draw with surgical precision, sweeping his first four matches in three games each and only dropping his first game in the finals before winning another three straight games to capture the title.
Along the way, he defeated four players ranked in the top 80 nationally, raising his overall individual ranking to #40 despite having played only four events in the United States.
It is the second tournament win for Ghaeli in this academic year, joining the Greenwich Gold Cup that he captured in October.
Scott Shrager '19 also competed in the event, winning his last three matches in the Under-17 draw, including a thrilling 9-11, 13-11, 11-5, 11-13, 11-4 final score.
