Scott Hooper '14 has been named one of two captains for the 2017-2018 University of Virginia men's lacrosse team.

Hooper, a senior defenseman from Wakefield, R.I., has distinguished himself in his three years playing for the Cavaliers. For the past two seasons he has led the team in caused turnovers, and last season he finished first in the ACC and fifth nationally in that category.

"The soulful, grounded leader of the team, Scott Hooper is tremendously respected by his teammates," said head coach Lars Tiffany in a release on the school's website.

At Hotchkiss, Hooper enjoyed a similarly noteworthy career, finishing as a two-time captain and an Under Armour All-American. As a senior, he won the C. Nelson Corey II Lacrosse Award and the Boys Senior Athletic Award.
