Goalie Lindsay Reed '18 will represent Team USA for the second time at the IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship, as she was named to the team on Dec. 1.
The last time Reed suited up at the event, the Americans won the gold medal at the 2017 championships, held in the Czech Republic. This year's event will be held on Jan. 6-13 in Dmitrov, Russia.
Reed is one of two goalies on the team, and she is one of seven returners from last year's gold medal team.
Reed has already distinguished herself on the ice this year, winning both of her games in a series against Team Canada in August. She made 60 saves in the series, including a gritty effort in the clinching game where the Canadians held a 33-13 advantage in shots on goal.
Last season, Reed recorded a save percentage of .961, earning All-USA first team honors and the Melissa Goss Simonds '79 Hockey Award for the second consecutive year.
In the fall, Reed helped captain the varsity field hockey team to the semifinals of the New England Class A tournament. Next year, she will play ice hockey at Harvard.
