Marcus was an actor in New York City for 15 years, performing in the original cast of Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins, and he played the role of Sergeant Lombardi in the original production of Sondheim and Lapine’s Passion on Broadway (winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical: 1994). Marcus has since been blessed with work as a teacher and director in academic theatre, and he currently holds the position of Director of Theatre at The Hotchkiss School. He holds a B.A. (summa cum laude) in Theatre from Amherst College, and an M.A. in directing from Miami University in Ohio. Marcus is originally from Montana, and he is a proud graduate of Hellgate High School in Missoula.
