Before you schedule your interview with us, you must first complete your Admission Inquiry Form (see the link above). 

Schedule an Interview

9th and 10th grade applicants: We are test optional!

11th, 12th, and Post Graduate applicants: We accept the PSAT, SAT, ACT, SSAT, or state and country mandated testing administered within the preceding two-years.

For most international students (for whom English is not the language spoken at home), we require results from the TOEFL, Duolingo, or IELTS exams.

For applicants who have attended a school for three years or more where English is the primary mode of instruction, a test is not required.

Your Hotchkiss application helps us get to know you and evaluate how you might fit with the School. Hotchkiss uses “Gateway to Prep Schools," an online common application that consists of these main sections:

• Candidate Profile (basic information about where you live, family, etc.)*
• Candidate Project (formal application, essay questions, activities)
• Parent Statement
• School Record
• Teacher Recommendations

Other Dates to Know

• Interviews are available from mid-September through mid-January.

  Please note: there are no interviews during our Thanksgiving or Winter Breaks.

Supplemental materials help us understand your interests and abilities, especially in the arts and sports.
