Hotchkiss Celebrates Franz Liszt with Guest Artists, Friday November 18 at 7 p.m.

To mark the 200th birthday of the Hungarian composer, Hotchkiss will open its 2011-2012 season with an incredible lineup of pianists, including guest artists and faculty on Friday, November 18 at 7 p.m. in Katherine M. Elfers Hall, Esther Eastman Music Center. Performers will be Luiz de Moura Castro, Fabio Witkowski, Thomas Mastroianni, Gisele Nacif Witkowski, Alexandre Dossin, Jonathan Moyer and selected Hotchkiss students. These pianists will join forces and collaborate in an exciting evening of piano music honoring Franz Liszt, with a prelude concert by Hotchkiss students at 6:30 p.m.

Amerigo Trio to Perform at Hotchkiss April 1

The Hotchkiss Guest Concert Series will feature an exciting new string ensemble, the Amerigo Trio, in a performance Friday, April 1, at 7 p.m. in the school's Katherine M. Elfers Hall in the Esther Eastman Music Center. They will be joined by Gisele Witkowski on piano as they perform works by Beethoven, Kodaly and Brahms. The concert is free and open to the public.

Guest Concert to Feature Marco Antonio de Almeida on Piano

An award-winning musician from the international stage, pianist Marco Antonio de Almeida will perform Mozart's Fantasia in C Minor, and works by Eggert, Villa-Lobos and Schumann in a Saturday afternoon concert at the Esther Eastman Music Center's Katherine M. Elfers Hall on Nov. 6 at 4:30 p.m.

Pianist Boris Berman to Perform at Hotchkiss April 16

The 2010 Hunt Concert will feature Boris Berman on piano April 16 in the Esther Eastman Music Center's Katherine M. Elfers Hall. The program will include works by Claude Debussy. Berman is well-known to audiences in over 40 countries on six continents and has performed to wide acclaim as a recitalist, guest soloist and with such groups as the Tokyo Quartet. He has served on the faculty of some of the world's finest schools and currently heads the Piano Department at the Yale School of Music.

Glenn Dicterow to Perform at Hotchkiss

Violinist Glenn Dicterow will be in Lakeville on Friday, May 1, to perform The Hotchkiss School’s annual Hunt Concert. The concert, which is slated for 7 p.m. in the Esther Eastman Music Center’s Katherine M. Elfers Hall, is free and open to the public. Dicterow will perform works by Mozart, Debussy, Krongold and Brahms.

Guarneri String Quartet's Final Concert in Connecticut

The famed Guarneri String Quartet will be making its final Connecticut appearance April 3, 2009, at 7 p.m., when it comes to Hotchkiss to perform in the Esther Eastman Music Center’s Katherine M. Elfers Hall. Joining them on stage, in a performance of the Brahms piano quintet, will be pianist and Hotchkiss Music Department Chair Fabio Witkowski. The concert is free and open to the public (seats available on a first-come, first-served basis).

International concert pianist Robert Blocker will perform works by Mozart at The Hotchkiss School Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at 7 p.m. Joining him on stage will be the Sejong String Orchestra, a unique ensemble that brings together 14 individually distinguished solo and chamber musicians from eight different nations. The free concert will be held in the School’s Katherine M. Elfers Hall in the Esther Eastman Music Center.
