Over the last few months, we have been working to upgrade and widen The Hotchkiss School website. This upgrade will make our website, which was last updated in 2005, more in line with current trends and technology. The updated site is now live, and you will notice a few changes. Please note that you will limit difficulty accessing the website by typing http://www.hotchkiss.org into your browser to access the site. Your old bookmarks will not work.

Archaeological Institute’s Gold Medal presented to John Humphrey ’67

Search Commences for A New Associate Head of School, Dean of Faculty

With the announcement by Dean of Faculty Steve Albert that he has accepted a position as the Head of Sandia Preparatory School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Head of School Malcolm McKenzie has begun the search process for a new dean.

Student Teams Transform Math Wing into a Polyhedra Museum

All six Math 250 classes celebrated the completion of their study of 3D Polyhedra by filling the mathematics wing in the Main Building with their projects. Working in groups of three to four students, each team researched a shape, then constructed it.

Hotchkiss Flag Flies over Main Circle

In the last week, there has been a new addition to the flag pole above “senior grass.” Fluttering in the late October breeze is a square, blue and white flag that features Minerva and the school motto surrounded by a border of intertwined leaves.

Colombian Ambassador Presents Seminar at Hotchkiss

On October 6, Colombian Ambassador the Hon. Carolina Barco gave a presentation to the Hotchkiss community in the Faculty Lounge. Most of the seminar involved the relationship between Colombia and the United States, as well as a background of Colombia and some of its problems.
