Bravo! Hotchkiss Students Take Top Awards at State Competition

Hotchkiss students received first and second prizes in the Music Teachers National Association competition held at UConn's Storrs campus Nov. 5. First prize winners will represent the state at the eastern division round held in January in West Virginia. They will compete against winners from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, D.C., and West Virginia. Congratulations to the following musicians:

Shine Peng '19 – 1st Prize – CT State Representative - Senior Piano Competition

Brian Wong '19 – 2nd Prize – Alternate - Senior Piano Competition

Christine Deng '18 - 1st Prize – CT State Representative – Senior Winds Competition

Elizabeth Riley Henshaw '20– 2nd Prize – Alternate - Senior Winds Competition

Shane Kim '20 – 1st Prize – CT State Representative – Senior Strings Competition. The first prize winners will represent the state at the eastern division round held in January in West Virginia.
