The Hotchkiss One Card System allows parents to control the amount of funds available to students, and students to deposit and manage their own funds for School purchases.
Each student is required to have a Hotchkiss School One Card, as it also serves as his or her photo ID. The student's card will be valid throughout his or her years at Hotchkiss. Replacements for lost or misplaced cards will cost $25.00.
The One Card provides students with a debit account with the School. Similar to an ATM card, the One Card allows a student to make purchases and withdrawals as long as there is a sufficient balance in the account to cover the transaction. Students can obtain card balances at the point of each transaction.
Each month Hotchkiss will mail to parents an itemized summary of the student's debit card account activity, along with the statement of the student's tuition and fee account. Parents also have the option of imposing spending restrictions on the account using the Spending Restrictions form (PDF, approx. 21K). We recommend that a student begin the school year without any restrictions on the card so they may access all funds.
One Card Web Access
Parents may deposit money into the student's One Card account with a Visa or MasterCard, and also view account history and balance information via the Web. To access the One Card Web site, please go to the Parent Central homepage, login, and follow the "Hotchkiss One Card" link under Quick Clicks. One Card login and password information is mailed to parents each August.
Please note that a service fee of 2.5% will be added to the amount of a deposit transaction. As soon as the credit card transaction clears, the funds are available for immediate access.

Please note: An initial deposit before the start of school is required to activate the debit account, and must be made by August 15 to insure that the account is active in time for purchases at the start of school. To cover the cost of books, a $500 - $800 deposit is recommended. The School will not bill in advance for deposit funds for the Hotchkiss debit card. This is a one-time transaction to insure each student starts the year with funds. Students receiving financial assistance should contact the Financial Assistance Office to review this initial deposit.
