How Do I...

• Books check out for 28 days. DVDs (and almost everything else, such as games) check out for one week.
• To place a hold on an item or renew any materials you have checked out, you can log in to your BearCATaccount. A list of your checked out items will appear on the right side of the page. Books you place holds on will be checked out to you. You may pick them up in the library.

• Try our publication search for academic journals, magazines, and newspapers.
• For current newspapers and magazines from around the world, check out PressReader.
• We also have an alphabetical list of our databases.
• If you can’t find what you're looking for or we don’t have it, just come and ask for help at the front desk or email the library.

• We have several spaces in the library that can be reserved for classes and meetings:
  • Media Center (flat-screen Apple TV, DVD player)
  • First floor (overhead projector, screen)
  • Richard L. Hatch '37 Classroom (Zoom Room, Apple TV, DVD player, data projector)
  • Group study rooms
• You can use Apple TV on the flat screens. Just follow the instructions posted in the room or ask for help at the front desk.
• For conference calls, contact ITS to request the necessary equipment.
• Email library@hotchkiss.org for more information about scheduling a room or making a reservation.

Please note that study rooms, classrooms, and some library resources are available only to students or to current Hotchkiss students, faculty, and staff.

If you need temporary access to a book or journal article, use the ILL Request Form. Turnaround time can range from a few days to two weeks. Please contact the library for more information.
