Business Portion of the Alumni Association Annual Meeting

The Hotchkiss School
Changes to the Alumni Association Constitution
June 2020

At their spring 2020 meeting, the Board of Governors (BOG) agreed to propose the following changes at the Alumni Association’s June 13, 2020 Annual Meeting.

AMENDMENT

The BOG propose the following changes to the Alumni Association Committee Structure to better align with the current needs of the School. The Gender Committee and Alumni of Color Committee will merge to become the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and the Alumni Services and Communications committee will split to become the Admission and Engagement Committee, and the Communications Committee, respectively.

To effect this change, Article V will be amended to include the following committee descriptions. Other existing committees will not be changed.

Admission and Engagement Committee
This committee will help to support the priority of the Admission & Financial Aid office to attract new communities of the brightest talent to the Hotchkiss community. Members of this committee may also serve as external ambassadors on behalf of the school at relevant events at the request of the Admission & Financial Aid office. Another role of the committee is to engage alumni and parents with the school's priorities and to seek opportunities for Ambassadorship in support of those priorities and development initiatives.

Communications Committee
This committee shall work to understand the school's communication priorities and strategy, including social media, and find opportunities for Ambassadorship in support of those priorities. The Communications committee shall also direct and organize BOG connectivity with class agents.

Diversity & Inclusion Committee
This committee shall work to learn the school's diversity and inclusion priorities and work to find opportunities for Ambassadorship in support of those priorities. Programming will be a part of this work, always in alignment with the School's own activities.
