The Hotchkiss School welcomes the community, neighbors, and friends to enjoy its annual summer series of world-class musical concerts—free and open to the public July 14 - 27. Whether for a pre-concert picnic at Hotchkiss or just to take in spectacular views of Lake Wononscopomuc and the southern Berkshire Mountains, visitors are invited to come early before enjoying performances inside the School’s renowned Katherine M. Elfers Hall, Esther Eastman Music Center. The hall is air-conditioned and handicapped accessible.
The Hotchkiss Summer Portals program hosts gifted young pianists from around the world for intensive study with resident and guests artists. Students, mentored by a faculty of professional musicians, participate in weekly master classes and give free public performances.
This year, featured performers include pianists Dmitri Rachmanov of California State University, Northridge opening the series on July 14, Oxana Yablonskaya of Tel Aviv University, Israel performing July 16, and the Fine Arts Quartet with pianists Fabio and Gisele Witkowski, appearing July 20. Other musicians and pianists to perform are Yuri Bogdanov on July 22, Leonel Morales and Leo de Maria on July 25. Please visit our website for full program information, including a schedule of concerts by student pianists, which includes an engagement at Carnegie Hall July 23.
