Hotchkiss Art Students Honored by Scholastic Art Association Including First Ever 'Best in Show'

Nine Hotchkiss students from the studio art program and photography, film, and related media program received Connecticut Regional Scholastic Art Awards this year. Awards include a Gold Key / Best in Show for photography, three Gold Keys, two Silver Keys, and three Honorable Mentions. This is the first time that work in any media by a Hotchkiss artist has received the Best in Show accolade. The honorees’ work was featured in the Connecticut Scholastic Art Awards exhibition at Hartford Art School’s Silpe Gallery through Feb. 5. A virtual awards ceremony will be held Feb. 12 at 2 p.m.

At Hotchkiss, certificates and commemorative pins will be presented to students in Walker Auditorium on March 22.
