The Hotchkiss Chorus presents A Musical Aviary: Visions of Birds from Four Centuries in two identical concerts on May 12 and May 19. They will perform at the Hotchkiss Chapel at 11 Interlaken Road in Lakeville on Sunday, May 12 at 7 p.m, and again at the Norfolk Library at 9 Greenwoods Rd E in Norfolk's Historic District on Sunday, May 19 at 5:30 p.m. The concert features the 35-voice chorus, and guest instrumentalists, in music by Brahms, Grieg, Stanford and Ravel, as well as folk, gospel and jazz works. The Hotchkiss Chorus is led by faculty member Jack Brown and is known for their outstanding annual Lessons & Carols services over the past 65 years. The musical settings examine birds in our world through centuries of poetry. Guest speakers will be Jennifer Rinehart, Hotchkiss Instructor in Environmental and Life Sciences, and Bethany Sheffer, a Sharon Audubon Society naturalist. Both concerts are free and open to the public.
