Hotchkiss Orchestra and Right Brain Logic Jazz Ensemble Perform May 25

The Hotchkiss Orchestra and school jazz ensemble, Right Brain Logic, will present the final concert of the academic year on Friday, May 25 at 7 p.m. in Katherine M. Elfers Hall, Esther Eastman Music Center. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Right Brain Logic will perform an original work by Michael Musillami - the group’s director and Hotchkiss’ guitar instructor. In addition to solos by several students, it will also feature a poem written and performed by seniors Nick Fleisher and Aadi Kulkarni.

The Hotchkiss Orchestra will perform 6 exciting pieces - symphonic works by Mozart, Dvořák, and Smetana. Additionally, 2 works will feature talented seniors as soloists - Sumin Goh will perform the gorgeous Tchaikovsky’s Melodie op. 42, and Esmé Govan will perform the first movement of Elgar’s dramatic cello concerto. The orchestra is also very excited to premiere a piece written by senior Sarah Du - “Être - Concertino for piano and orchestra op. 17 No. 1” with Sarah Du performing the piano part.
