The Tremaine Gallery is pleased to present an exhibit featuring relief print collages by T. Klacsmann '01. The exhibit will run May 5 - June 2, with a reception for the artist Saturday, May 5, 4 - 6 p.m.
Loving beauty more than efficiency, Klacsmann meticulously carves each living thing that appears in his work in linoleum or wood. Some of the resulting relief print collages are further developed with paint, ink, and colored pencil to become parts of mixed media collages or installation. His work represents the uneasy feeling of discovering beautiful life forms in an unsettling environment.
Klacsmann has shown his work nationally and internationally and is included in the permanent collection of the Albany Institute of History and Art, the flat files and archives of Zea Mays Printmaking, and the Miriam Shapiro Archives at Rutgers University. He has been an artist in residence at Vermont Studio Center, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Hambridge Center for the Creative Arts and Sciences, and the Women's Studio Workshop. The Tremaine exhibit his most recent work.
