CINDERELLA is the only musical in Rodgers and Hammerstein's repertoire that was written exclusively for television. Aired in 1957, it was a star vehicle for Julie Andrews. It has since been updated and adapted for the stage, most recently on Broadway in 2013. The Hotchkiss Dramatic Association production will delight audience members of nearly all ages (it is not recommended for infants or toddlers). "Students have been working very hard to make this magical, ageless tale come to life," says Marcus Olson.
All performances take place in Walker Auditorium. The November 12 matinee performance will benefit Harvey, Irma, and Maria hurricane relief via AMERICARES, a nonprofit disaster relief and global health organization based in Stamford, CT.
Founded in 1891, The Hotchkiss School is a coeducational boarding school, located at 11 Interlaken Road in Lakeville, Connecticut. Walker Auditorium is located on the lower level of the main building. For more information on this and other arts events at The Hotchkiss School visit www.hotchkiss.org/arts or call 860-435-4423.
