SMS Showcases Musical Talent of Students for 10th Year

Bearcats recently took the stage in Walker Auditorium to showcase their musical talent during the 10th annual student-run SMS concert. They performed outstanding songs by artists like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Michael Jackson, TLC, Cafuné, and SWV.

Jaidyn Hurst '23, Giancarlo Mendoza '23, and Isabella Wei '23 were the heads of this year's SMS, which was held on March 1. During their introduction, Isabella emphasized that the event would not have been possible "without the amazing talents that are backstage right now and on stage." She then gestured to the large crowd: "And, of course, not without your support."

According to a 2017 Hotchkiss Record article, "SMS was created in 2014 by Maggie Camillos ’15 and Simi Odugbesan ’15 as a winter co-curricular project. The following year, Sam Bartusek ’15 joined them, and named the show SMS (for Simi, Maggie, and Sam). The show has gained tremendous popularity. This student-run performance offers students a chance to showcase their talents in music and dance."
