Eric Stone has spent the last 20 years as a mathematics and science teacher at South Burlington High School in Vermont, where he has taught a variety of math and science courses ranging from Algebra 1 to Advanced Placement Physics and Chemistry. After earning his degree in physics from Clarkson, Mr. Stone began his teaching career in South Carolina, teaching physics and chemistry and chairing the Science Department at CA Johnson High School while also coaching their chess team to a state high school championship. At South Burlington, Mr. Stone served as an advisor, representative, and coach to many teams, clubs, and committees, including the chess and martial arts clubs, varsity Ultimate Frisbee, Scholar’s Bowl, and the Discipline Committee. In 2012, he was selected to receive a U.S. Presidential Scholar Teacher Recognition award, and he is one of the most accomplished National Academic Quiz Tournament coaches in Vermont. Mr. Stone lives off campus with his wife, Rebecca, and son, Aaron ’19.
