Instructor in Chemistry & Physics

Davida LaCosse joined Hotchkiss in 2022 as an instructor in chemistry. Ms. LaCosse comes to Hotchkiss most recently from Millbrook School (NY), where for six years she taught modeling chemistry and advanced honors chemistry. In addition, she coached squash, worked with students on the Millbrook farm, and directed the school’s Saturday Morning Program, which provided appropriate social and emotional support programming for students. Prior to that, Ms. LaCosse lived in North Carolina where she taught high school science, coached students in the Science Olympiad, and organized and directed the Durham County competition.

Ms. LaCosse received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Lewis and Clark College (OR) and her master’s in biochemistry from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  

Ms. LaCosse and her husband, Instructor in Physics Jeffrey LaCosse, reside in campus housing. They have two children. When not teaching, she enjoys being outdoors, sewing, murder mysteries, and developing her "Magic the Gathering" skills.
