Robin Chandler '87 joined the faculty in 1995. She worked as assistant athletic director, taught Latin, and assisted in the study skills department before becoming one of the co-directors of athletics in 2004. While a student at Hotchkiss, she became the first female athlete to win 12 varsity letters, captaining three teams (field hockey, ice hockey, and softball) in her senior year. Ms. Chandler received her B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1991. She was also a four-year member of the Dartmouth women's hockey team, captaining the team in her senior year. Since 1997, she has been the head varsity field hockey coach and assistant varsity hockey coach at Hotchkiss.
Coaching Profile: Robin Chandler '87 returned to the Hotchkiss faculty in 1995 as the assistant athletic director, and now holds the position of Co-Director of Athletics. While a student, she was the first female athlete at Hotchkiss to win 12 varsity letters, captaining all three teams (field hockey, ice hockey, and softball) in her senior year. Chandler continued her hockey career at Dartmouth College, where she earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors in 1989, 1990, and 1991 when she captained Dartmouth's first-ever Ivy Championship women's hockey team. Since taking over the Hotchkiss field hockey program in 1997, she has led her teams to 17 Founders League titles (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006 - 2015); 13 Western New England Championships (1998, 1999, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 - 2016); and 12 New England Class A Championships (1998, 2002-2011 and 2014). Her coaching record is 303-22-17. Many of her players have gone on to play field hockey at top Division I and III colleges. Chandler is also an assistant coach for varsity ice hockey.
