More than 30 alumni, coaches, and friends of the football program will reunite on campus this weekend with members of the current team to celebrate the program's 125th anniversary.
Former players and coaches, as well as their families, will return to campus on Oct. 28 to reconnect with the school and the team for a day of activities, culminating with a game against Williston that evening on Sprole Field.
"Every time we get together, our kids get a lot out of it," said current head coach Danny Smith. "They're reminded what a special place this is and what an impact it has on people's lives."
Also attending the event will be Smith's predecessor, Rick DelPrete. The two men have helmed the program for the past 39 years, and during that time the team made three trips to the New England championships, winning in 1991 and 2008.
More than 20 alumni will be returning to campus as well, representing nearly 60 years of Hotchkiss history, with members of the class of 1951 and 2009 on the registered guest list.
Guests will begin the day on Saturday with a special lunch with the current members of the team, followed by several on-campus activities in the afternoon. The group will rendezvous in the early evening for the 6:00 p.m. tilt between the Bearcats and Wildcats.
