On September 27, the Hotchkiss mountain bike team hosted its second annual home race on the trails of Beeslick Brook Woods. More than 30 riders from Hotchkiss, Kent School, Salisbury School, and the Kildonan School competed. In the A class, which rode a longer course, Jack Wolf '19 (top time of 32:40 minutes), Keeks George '18, Will Helm '18, and Alex Takoudes '20 finished with the top four times. In the B class, Grayson Costa '20 finished in first place with a time of 27:10 minutes.
This is the second year that Hotchkiss has offered this team as a co-curricular option. Coached by instructor in history Mike Fitzgerald, the team takes riders with a range of experience and trains them in the techniques of riding natural terrain. The team will head off to Salisbury School next Wednesday for the next league race.
