Lindsay Reed '18 looks to be in midseason form already as she stopped nearly every shot in leading the Under-18 Team USA squad to a 2-1 series victory over Team Canada.
Reed stopped 60 of 62 shots in anchoring the team's victories in the first and third games of the series. Her performance in the clinching game was especially stout, as the Canadians outshot the Americans 33-13 but only managed to put one past her in the final period.
The two teams met for a three-game series over the weekend of Aug. 17-20 in Lake Placid, NY. It was Reed's third time on the national squad, with stints in 2016 against Canada and with the gold medal-winning team at the 2017 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championships.
Since inheriting full-time duties between the pipes for the Bearcats, Reed has had a stellar career at Hotchkiss. She is a two-time winner of the Melissa Goss Simonds '79 Hockey Award and also earned first team All-New England honors.
