Boys Basketball
Philosophy
The Hotchkiss boys’ basketball program has a very long and rich tradition of competing at a high level and of preparing our student-athletes for competition at all collegiate levels. We pride ourselves on combining high academic standards and highly competitive athletics.
Hotchkiss competes in the Founders League, the Tri-State League, as well as the Class A Level of NEPSAC.
In recent history the team has captured the Tri-State league title 7 times in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2019 and 2022, as well as the Founders League title in 2008, 2009, 2019 and 2022. Last winter, the team captured the program's first ever Class A NEPSAC Championship, dropping only one game en route to an overall 23-1 record.
New Head Coach, Joe Busacca takes pride in developing his players every single day, both on and off the court. He uses the phrase "BBTY" with his program, which is an acronym for "Be Better Than Yesterday." Coach Busacca wants his athletes to have a forward way of thinking, to let go of yesterday and champion the moments they have in front of them.

Facilities
The varsity team practices and plays in Fowle Gym, a classic high school, wooden-floored court, where students, families, and fans overflow the stands, crowd the sidelines, and make so much noise that it can be difficult for anyone to hear. The Forrest E. Mars Jr. Athletic Center also boasts a fully staffed training room, a fitness center, and numerous locker rooms and team rooms.
