At Hotchkiss, we strive to develop players who love the game of golf and play it with integrity. Whether you are just discovering the sport or competing in national tournaments, the Girls Varsity Golf team at Hotchkiss has a place for you to learn, contribute, and develop a game that will last the rest of your lives. The team promotes a positive environment where each individual’s results have a direct impact on the team’s ability to achieve its goals. We hope that our girls leave the program with a sense of accomplishment for the skills they have developed and the friendships that they have made, both on and off of the course.
-- Kerry Mosher, Head Coach, Girls Varsity Golf
For the last 3 years, the Girls’ Golf team has become more competitive within an already strong league. In 2016, the Bearcats finished in 3rd place at Founders, and every year we look forward to doing better than the year before. Members of our team have also competed in regional and national golf tournaments, including those hosted by the AJGA and USGA.
We are fortunate to have our own 9-hole course (3,043 yards, par 35) that circles the campus of the school and is closed to the public every afternoon during the school season. Designed by prominent golf course architect Seth Raynor, the Hotchkiss golf course was ranked 10th in Golfweek Magazine's "Best Places You Can Play" in Connecticut for 2016. Its undulating greens and moderate elevation changes provide a fun and appropriate challenge for our team members. We also have an indoor facility for practicing during inclement weather.
Head Coach Kerry Mosher joined the Hotchkiss admissions office in September 2011 after having worked for the Skip Barber Racing School. She grew up in Millerton, NY, and now resides in Torrington, CT. She has been an avid golfer since her junior high school years and loves the game of golf. Coach Mosher works with the girls on having good sportsmanship and working hard to meet their goals, both individually and overall as a team.
Assistant Coach Tiffany Lim has more than 10 years of competitive golf experience, enjoying a successful junior golf career in California and eventually captaining the Harvard Women’s Golf team to several Ivy League titles. Most notably, she qualified for and made the cut at the 2010 US Women’s Open Championship. Coach Lim teaches math at the Hotchkiss School and works with both the girls and the boys golf programs.
