Mountain biking at Hotchkiss is a coed program that offers athletes an opportunity to challenge themselves physically and mentally through a structured approach to riding and racing. Club athletes ride on campus 4 days a week, primarily in the Beeslick Woods and in the new skills park currently under development. Team athletes commit to off campus training rides and races on Wednesdays and Saturdays in addition. Both groups will engage in technical skill development and training for core stability, full body strength, and cardiovascular endurance. Athletes confront mental as well as physical challenges, learning to overcome their fears, extend their performance beyond their self- limitations, and gain increased confidence in their own abilities. Experience is not necessary, but all athletes will be asked for commitment and dedication.
