Day of the Middlebury women's soccer team has been named the NESCAC Co-Rookie of the Year, and has been tabbed to the all-conference second team alongside fellow teammate Maddie Schin.

Mo Nuhu ’23
Amherst’s Mohammed Nuhu was voted as the conference’s Rookie of the Year.
Nuhu is the sixth Amherst player to be named NESCAC Rookie of the Year. The first year leads Amherst in scoring with 18 points, scoring a team-high seven goals and adding four assists. In the 54th minute of the NESCAC Championship game, Nuhu’s lofted shot found the back of the net to lift the Mammoths past Tufts, 1-0, allowing Amherst to repeat as conference champion. Nuhu enters the NCAA Tournament having recorded at least one point in six straight matches.
Nuhu burst onto the collegiate pitch this fall with great ball skills, speed and a knack for scoring. He had the game-winning and only goal in the NESCAC Championship game and in his last six games, he had 5 goals and 2 assists. In addition, Nuhu earned All-NESCAC First Team.
This comes on the heels of Mo’s exceptional high school soccer career where he earned multiple All-State and All-League awards at Hotchkiss, and served as a team captain!
Congratulations to both Gigi and Mo. Once a Bearcat, always a Bearcat! #betrue
