Boys Varsity Cross Country (3-0)
The boys team continued their winning ways with a pair of victories over visiting Berkshire and Avon. The varsity was paced by Huck Whittemore ’22, who won the race and recorded a new personal best on the Hotchkiss course. Owen Zinn-Keane ’22, Blaise Fleury ’21, Ben Johnson ’21, and Billy Burns ’20 all finished in the top 10.
Boys JV Cross Country (3-0)
The JV team also had an impressive day, with Brant Hadzima ’20 leading a quintet of runners who all finished in 15th through 19th place, including Alex Kovitch ’21, Jack Louchheim ’20, Desmond Teague ’20, and Luke Louchheim ’22. The scores were good enough for a sweep of visiting Berkshire and Avon.
Girls Cross Country (1-0)
The girls cross country team recorded its first head-to-head victory, beating Berkshire 24-33. The Bearcats were led by Caroline Bergin ’23, who finished second overall in the race, followed close behind by Kayla Uzwiak ’22 and Jillian Cudney ’20.
Varsity Mountain Biking
The varsity mountain biking team hosted its only home race of the season and entertained the crowd with a first-place overall finish as a team. In the A division, the Bearcats put four riders in the top 10: Charlie McLean ’22 (3rd), Alex Takoudes ’20 (4th), Chris Tolis ’21 (6th), and Alec Stern ’21 (7th). In the B division, John Nicholson ’22, Jonathan Peng ’22, and Clark Dong ’22 swept the top three places.
Boys Thirds Soccer (3-0)
The juggernaut that is boys thirds soccer continued with two more dominant shutout victories over Forman and Salisbury, giving the team a combined goal differential of +11 for the season. Coach Fall gave kudos for a total team effort on Wednesday, as four different Bearcats scored the first four goals.
Girls JV Soccer (2-1)
The girls JV soccer team rallied from an initial loss with two victories last week, 2-0 over Williston on Wednesday and 4-1 over Suffield on Saturday. The first goal came on a pass from Leslie Herold ’20 to Julia Willett ’20, and the second came on a penalty kick by Caroline Keswin ’21.
JV Volleyball (3-0)
The JV volleyball team remains undefeated after a 3-0 sweep at Kent on Wednesday. Coach Bill Fenton gave credit to Rena Peng ’22 for her serving prowess and Jay Wright ’20 for numerous kills to ensure the shutout.
