Hotchkiss was well-represented at the most recent US Open Club Championships in Ultimate Frisbee, held Aug. 4-7 in Minnesota.

David Vega '20 and Theresa Yu '19 competed for their respective Under-20 state teams, Ellen Rim '08 competed in the Mixed division, and Qxhna Titcomb '11 and Rohre Titcomb '05 both competed in the Women's division.

Qxhna and Rohre (serving as coach after numerous years on the field) enjoyed the most success in the Women's division with perennial power Seattle Riot. The team swept through its pool play round with a perfect 5-0 record, including a victory over archrival Fury from San Francisco.

The storybook ending was not in the cards, however, as both teams fell in their semifinal games. Riot lost to upstart Club Deportivo Revolution from Colombia, who went on to win the championship 15-10 over Molly Brown.

Qxhna Titcomb recorded three assists over the course of the weekend.

In the Mixed division, Rim and her club Mischief out of San Francisco battled to a seventh-place finish. After finishing 2-3 in pool play, the club lost its semifinal game 15-12 to Steamboat before rallying for a 15-13 victory over Shinshu Loose in the next game.

Although their teams did not have as much success, both Vega and Yu enjoyed some valuable competition in the Under-20 divisions. Vega's team finished 1-2 in pool play, including a win over eventual sixth-place finisher Foggy Bottom Boys. Yu scored two goals at the tournament with her mixed team.
