Five members of the varsity wrestling team traveled to Andover over the weekend to compete in the seventh annual Andover Girls Tournament, returning with a runner-up finish for the second year in a row.

Competing for the Bearcats were Simone Straus '21, Mackenzie Huang '20, Maura Thompson '20, Jacqueline Wang '23, and Ziyi Wang '23. Below is a recap of the event from head coach Cooper Puls:

"On Sunday, we continued our run of success.  Simone Straus placed first in her weight group, quickly dispatching two opponents and winning decisively over a skilled opponent in her final.  Mackenzie Huang (winning a brawl of a match) and Maura Thompson (HERE in her first match of the day) both took second place in their weight groups, helping our team to a second place overall finish out of 39 schools.  This is the second year in a row that Hotchkiss has finished second at this competition."
