The boys cross country team started their season in style with a convincing 18-37 victory over visiting Salisbury on Sep. 15.

Leading the way for the Bearcats (1-0) were Huck Whittemore ’22 (18:11), Kostia Howard ’20 (18:13), and Owen Zinn-Keane ’22 (18:30), who took the top three places overall.

Also scoring points for Hotchkiss were Blaise Fleury ’21 (5th at 18:51), Ben Johnson ’21 (7th at 19:35), Tucker Briglin ’20 (12th at 20:41), and Billy Burns ’20 (13th at 20:42).

The JV team also had a memorable day, capturing seven of the top 23 places. Leading the way for the Bearcats was Phil Warren ’23 (14th overall at 20:59).

The varsity will travel to Canterbury next weekend for the Canterbury Invitational.
