by Meilan Antonucci '20

The boys varsity swimming and diving team won their only meet of the season, beating Kent 94-72 in a virtual meet held at Hixon Pool on March 13.

In this "virtual meet", both teams swam and dove a full meet in their own pools and compared their times as they would in a normal event to determine the winner of each race. The day provided a fitting send-off for the seniors, with the Bearcats winning each event.

Ryan Tse '22 had a very successful meet. He won both the 200 yard freestyle (1:59.86) and also the 500 yard freestyle (5:24.62). He won each event by a comfortable margin.

The 100 yard breaststroke was one of the best events for the team overall, with Carter Levine '22 (1:06.33), James Yae '23 (1:06.52), and Alex Tolis '23 (1:12.49) sweeping the top three podium places. The 200 yard individual medley was the second event Hotchkiss swept the podium places, with Tse, Yae, and Tolis makins up the top three spots.
