Dean Hogans ‘25 hit 3 solid 3-pointers early in the game to give Hotchkiss a 2 point lead. As the game continued to change leaders with every passing possession, Kingswood-Oxford’s defensive abilities were on full show, managing to earn 2 turnovers, stretching their lead to 6. However, Hotchkiss responded with a couple important points of their own. The rest of the first half would continue with the same intensity as both teams went up and down the court, going into the break with a 3-point difference.

As soon as the second half began something seemed to click for Hotchkiss, and they widened the gap to 7 midway. Will Groot ‘23 built on an impressive first half display by continuing to dominate the paint, catching rebounds on both ends and managing some blocks. Arop Arop ‘23 landed a second 3-point shot and two exciting dunks as Hotchkiss continued to surge closer to a win. Kingswood wasn’t done just yet, however. After a couple of well-worked layups and jumpshots, the game returned to a two-point contest.
