On May 4th, the Hotchkiss Boys Varsity Tennis team dominated in their 6-1 win against Avon Old Farms. Coming into the game, the 4-3 team had suffered a close 4-3 loss against Loomis Chaffee and was looking to get back into the win column. Against a 5-1 Avon team, it was a crucial game where all players had to be at their best. While the games were all hard-fought, most if not all of our Bearcats jumped out to early leads and never looked back.

Yury Tsibikov ’26, the number two player on the team, said, “I thought our team played extremely well in both the singles and the doubles matches. It’s a really important game that prepares us mentally and physically for our next few games. While the Avon team certainly didn’t play too bad, I think we capitalized on their mistakes and never let up.” Up next, the team has 3 games in the next week, against Kingswood-Oxford, Berkshire, and Deerfield.
