Girls Lax Downs Kent, 17-7

A solid and resilient all-around effort led the girls varsity lacrosse team past Kent 17-7 on April 25.

Jillian Mazzocca '19 led the home team with three goals and two assists. She also finished the game with three draw controls, one groundball, zero turnovers and two forced turnovers.

Alexandra Bowman '21 also made a significant contribution with three goals and one assist. Six other players -- Isabelle Haberstock '18, Saylor Willauer '18, Isabel Wheeler '18, Ellie DeSouza '19, Katherine Goldstuck '19, Abby Hillebrecht '19, Julia Chai '20 and Holly Knight '21-- had at least one goal.

Hotchkiss came out of the gate a little slowly, and trailed Kent for the better part of the first half. They went into the break up two goals, with the score being 7-5. In the second half, the Bearcats dominated shots on goal, finishing with 38 shots, and they held the visitors to 16 total shots.

Gracyn Campbell '18 had a busy first half in goal, and ended the game with a total of 8 saves.

The team improves to 3-4 with the win, and will face Canterbury at home this Saturday April 28.
