Girls Lax Nabs Four All-American Nods

Four members of last year’s girls varsity lacrosse team earned All-American honors last month for their exceptional work on the field and in the classroom.

Jami-Lynn Macdonald ’22 and Ellie Traggio ’22 were named to the All-American team, while Alexandra Bowman ’21 and Nia Butler ’21 both earned Academic All-American honors.

Macdonald (attack) has played on the varsity for both of her two years at Hotchkiss, and she has also earned two varsity letters in ice hockey. Traggio (midfield) entered Hotchkiss as a prep and has earned varsity letters each season in lacrosse, soccer, and ice hockey.

Butler (defense) and Bowman (attack) both had remarkably similar athletic careers at Hotchkiss. Each earned a total of eight varsity letters in their Hotchkiss careers – four in lacrosse and four in field hockey – and both served as captains of this year’s lacrosse team.

The awards were announced in late June by the Connecticut High School Coaches Association.
