Co-Athletic directors Danny Smith and Robin Chandler ’87 are pleased to introduce rowing as a co-curricular offering beginning this spring. Initially, the rowing program will take place on Lake Washinee at Salisbury School, which has graciously offered to help with the start up. A search is currently underway for a coach. Co-Athletic Director Robin Chandler noted there is a lot of excitement about the announcement. "Timing was right with increased student interest and other factors. We are pleased to be able to introduce rowing and expand our co-curricular offerings," she said.
The program will be open to boys and girls, and will include a co-ed boat. Both novice and experienced rowers are welcomed to participate. Teams will row “fours,” or four rowers per racing shell, and compete against private and public schools throughout New England.
