Hurwitz ’21 To Race In 420 Junior World Championships
Oliver Hurwitz '21

Oliver Hurwitz ’21 has been selected to represent the United States at this year’s ISAF Youth World Sailing Championships.

Hurwitz and his crew, Ethan Froelich, will be one of two American boats sailing in the 420 class at the event, held in Gdynia, Poland from July 13-20. Each country enters at most one boys boat and one girls boat in each division. Last year’s Boys 420 regatta, held in Corpus Christie, Texas, featured boats from 23 different countries.

The American boats were selected based on their performance in qualifying regattas held this winter. Hurwitz and Froelich placed third overall at the 420 North American Championships held in January, and fourth at the US Mid-Winter Championships in February. The two results made them the top boys boat in the class and led to their selection to compete in Poland.

“I am beyond excited to represent my country at this event,” said Hurwitz.
