Klingler ’16, Yale Sailing Complete Memorable Season

Chrissie Klingler ’16 and the Yale coed sailing team concluded a stellar season with a haul of national awards, including an All-American nod for Klingler.

The award, announced on Wednesday, came in the same week where the team earned the Fowle trophy, given each year to the top overall college sailing team. The Bulldogs won the team race national championships last week and finished second at the national fleet race championships.

It was another successful season for Klingler, who earned all-conference honors last season and helped skipper the Yale women’s team to the national championship as a freshman.

At Hotchkiss, Klingler was a four-year varsity sailor, serving as captain of the team as a senior. She won the Class of 1989 Sailing Prize as an upper mid, and the Nunes Sailing Trophy as a senior, along with the Charles E. Berry Award for her achievements on the cross country team.
