Mitchell ’04 Transitions to Coaching

NHL veteran Torrey Mitchell ’04 has left his playing days behind him, but he has no intention of leaving the ice.

Mitchell, who played professionally for 13 years, including 11 seasons in the NHL, has opened a youth hockey training center in Essex, Vt., not far from his collegiate playing days at the University of Vermont.

The new venture, named ELEV802 Performance + Custom Ice, was recently profiled in an article in The Chronicle Herald of Halifax, NS.

Mitchell played for two years as a Bearcat, recording 111 points in 51 games played. He earned the Edward F. III ’41 and Phelps H. Swift ’41 Award as a senior.
