Former Hotchkiss Bearcat and current Georgetown University Hoya Maximus Jennings ’21 was drafted by Real Salt Lake with the 76th overall selection of the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft.

As a Hoya defender, Max has been named the team’s most improved player for 2022.  Further accomplishments included:

  • 35 appearances / 33 starts in two NCAA seasons
  • Five goals / one assist
  • Part of a backline that managed seven shutouts on the 2022 season
  • BIG EAST All-Academic

Prior to becoming a Hoya, as a Bearcat, Max was heavily involved across student life at Hotchkiss, playing football, soccer, lacrosse, and indoor track at various points during his time in Lakeville.

Max was not necessarily recruited to Hotchkiss to play soccer, but instead was a tremendous football player, making his selection in the MLS SuperDraft that much more of an outstanding achievement. Max was also a member of his senior class council, club head of Prism and board member of the MOCAH club. As a junior at Georgetown University, Max has established himself as an elite defender at a soccer program ranked in the top 20 of NCAA Division I teams in the country.

Only a meager percentage of soccer players earn the opportunity to play professionally. Max is truly in exceptionally rare air. With regards to former Hotchkiss soccer players who have played professionally, Francis Atuahene ’15, Nicky Downs ’15, and Shavar Thomas ’00 are others who have risen to those impressive heights.
