The Hotchkiss varsity mountain biking team finished a fantastic season-long effort on Nov. 2 by winning its first championship! The Bearcats competed in the Housatonic Mountain Bike League championship race in Colebrook, CT, against seven area independent school teams and more than 85 racers. They topped last season's winner Trinity Pawling by a convincing margin.
Sawyer Dillon '24 won the overall season individual title with a third-place finish in the A division, while Ciaran Groom '24 finished the season in second place overall with a dominant A class win. Adam Wright '24 finished the season in fifth place overall and seventh place at the championship race.
The girls trio of Maya Grogean '26 (first place), Sonia Rashid '25 (second place), and Sadie Panaro '25 (third place) took a podium sweep by winning the top three finishes in the championship race.
