Quaroni ’16 Named All-American in Cross Country

Marco Quaroni ’16 concluded his collegiate athletic career in fine fashion, earning All-American honors for his performance at this year’s Division III Cross Country Championships.

Quaroni, who ran for Washington University in St. Louis, finished 38th at this year’s race with a time of 24:56.2 over the 8k distance. More than 275 runners entered in the men’s race, and the top 40 racers earned All-American honors.

He also received All-Midwest Region honors for the second time, having previously received the distinction in his sophomore season. The Bears finished third at the Midwest championships and fourth at nationals.

Quaroni has also achieved in the classroom, earning Academic All-American honors for the third year in a row in pursuit of a degree in finance and marketing.

The recognition continues a string of excellent performances that also stretched throughout Quaroni’s career at Hotchkiss, where he earned four varsity letters each in both cross country and track, serving as captain of both teams his senior year.

During his four years in Lakeville, Quaroni tied or broke the school record on the Hotchkiss cross country course, and won the Founders League Championship as an upper mid and a senior.

He earned numerous prizes for those achievements, including the Walter J. Crain Cross Country Award, the Wyckoff Award, the Charles E. Berry Award, and the James T. Bryan ’11 Athletic Award.
