Senior Tributes: Boys Hockey

In recognition of the contributions our graduating seniors have made to our athletic programs, we offer these tributes from our coaches and some of our upper mids on each varsity team:

Trip Brown -- This is Trip’s first year with the varsity.  He has worked hard in goal all year to push our players to work hard to score goals.  In a difficult season with no games, Trip has shown up every day and helped make our team better. (Head Coach Mike Traggio)

Declan Conway -- Declan is a two-year senior forward who plays with a high skill level and work ethic.  He is an unselfish player, who makes the players on his line better. Declan is very quick and shifty with the puck, making him a tough player to play against.  He’s hard on pucks despite being a smaller forward, often frustrating larger opponents. (Traggio)

Andrew Esposito -- Espo is a three-year senior forward who routinely raises our general compete level by working hard in all areas of the rink.  He is an extremely coachable player, who often asks intuitive questions during practices and games.  Espo became one of our go-to penalty killers as a result of his constant high work ethic, and coachability. (Traggio)

Jon Horn -- Jon is a two-year senior forward who is one of our most gifted offensive players.  Jon’s combination of skill, quickness and vision make him hard to defend against.  His quiet demeanor hides a high compete level and desire to succeed, which raised those levels of everyone around him. (Traggio)

Jack Kane -- Kaner is a four-year senior defenseman who quietly leads by example.  He has been a consistently steady presence on the blueline for us the last few years.  He has brought a good natured, high intensity approach to our team, helping to elevate our program. (Traggio)

Brian Haywood -- Woody is another four-year senior D-man who has been an exceptional addition to our program.  Brian brought a tremendously high level of effort and humor on and off the ice.  His high compete level and outgoing personality have left a positive impact on all who have played with him. (Traggio)

Julian Leonhardt -- Jules is a three-year senior defenseman who played with a high skill level and is extremely coachable.  Julian is a smooth skater who played in all situations for us, sometimes acting as a shutdown defenseman one shift, and creating offense on another. (Traggio)

Ryan Mock -- Mocker is a two-year senior forward who has made tremendous strides in his game.  He is a well-liked teammate who works hard in all areas, forcing those competing with him to raise their play.  His hardworking goals in practice are almost always followed raucous cheers of, “Mocker!!!!” (Traggio)

Bodie Molnar -- Bodes is a two-year Senior forward who continually amazes with his skating ability.  His effortless stride helped open up many offensive opportunities for him and his linemates.  He is a very hardworking, “honest” player, who competes hard in all three zones.  His skating ability is among the best we’ve ever had. (Traggio)

Matt Noll --  Matt is a three-year Senior forward who has probably made the greatest impact on our program.  Matt has battled various ailments during his Hotchkiss career, often keeping him off the ice for long stretches of time.  He found numerous ways to contribute and support his teammates off the ice, becoming a beloved teammate. (Traggio)

Cam Smith -- Cam is a three-year senior goalie who was poised to be our starting goalie this season.  Cam has been a great teammate and goalie partner during his time here.  He has continually raised his level of play, and was fully prepared to help lead our team back to the playoffs this season. (Traggio)
