Senior Tributes: Rowing

In recognition of the contributions our graduating seniors have made to our athletic programs, we offer these tributes from our coaches and some of our upper mids on each varsity team:

Cyrus Farman-Farmaian: Cyrus had a little prior rowing experience before the team started in 2019, but watching him grow into the sport over the past two years has been powerful, both for him and our whole program. His drive is contagious, and we would not be where we are without his leadership and dedication. (Head Coach Victoria McGee)

Ella Huang: Ella started coxing for us in our first spring of existence and it was immediately clear this was the perfect role for her. This is not an easy role to jump into, and over the past two years she has shown strong leadership for our coxswain group. (McGee)

Julian Leonhardt: Jules started rowing in the spring of 2019 and you could tell from our first day on the water how happy rowing made him. For one of the most competitive people on the team, his kindness and humility shine as an example of how to lead with love and respect. (McGee)

Abby Powell: Abby started rowing in the spring of 2019 and her impact is felt beyond only athleticism. Her demeanor and drive to hold herself to a high standard of character help balance the intensity of training and competing with the fun and camaraderie of being on a team. (McGee)

Clara Preisig: Clara joined our team in the fall of 2019 and instantly made an impact as one of the strongest rowers on the team. Her competitive drive and desire to constantly improve has contributed to our success as a program, and is one of the first that comes to mind when I think of folks that have helped move our speed forward. (McGee)
